Dr. Clarissa Rippee, EdS, aka Queen of the Pen™ is an academic and business researcher whose work focuses on applied research, curriculum design, and organizational effectiveness within educational institutions and small business environments. She has served as a Program Director, where she led the development and implementation of career and technical education curricula grounded in workforce alignment and instructional best practices.
Dr. Rippee’s scholarly and professional writing has appeared in the Charleston Post-Courier, The Kansas City Star, Flourish Magazine, and Kansas City Small Business Monthly. In addition to these publications, she produces research-informed essays and commentaries across multiple digital platforms. She is the founder of the Burton Institute of Education™ academic website and its sister platform, ClarissaBurton.com, both of which serve as hubs for research dissemination, educational resources, and thought leadership.
Her research interests include systems improvement, adult learning theory, instructional design, and the optimization of operational frameworks in both academic and small business contexts. She is particularly committed to advancing evidence-based strategies that enhance institutional effectiveness, learner outcomes, and entrepreneurial sustainability.
A United States Navy veteran, Dr. Rippee holds a Doctorate in Higher Education and Adult Learning, a Master’s degree in Business, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She also facilitates a monthly Business Planning 101 webinar aimed at translating research and theory into practical application for emerging and established entrepreneurs.
